Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 27 October 2026

FrameHug (framehug.com) is a service by Hippocampia, Israel, that turns family photos into an animated film. We want everyone to be able to use it, including people with disabilities. We follow the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and its Service Accessibility Regulations, 5773-2013.

Conformance level

The site is designed to meet Israeli Standard IS 5568 at level AA, which is based on the W3C WCAG 2.0 guidelines, and is also checked against WCAG 2.1 level AA.

What we have done

  • Every page declares its language and direction in all 9 languages, including right-to-left Hebrew, so screen readers read it correctly.
  • Clear heading structure, page landmarks and a "skip to content" link on the home page.
  • Images that carry information have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Every form field, button and checkbox has a label or accessible name, and errors are shown as text.
  • The site, including the film studio, can be used with a keyboard alone, and keyboard focus is clearly visible.
  • Text and background colours meet the AA contrast ratio.
  • The layout adapts to phones, tablets and computers and can be zoomed to 200% without losing content.
  • Videos never play with sound when a page loads; they start only after you choose a film, and always have play, pause and volume controls.
  • Drag-and-drop upload always has a regular "Choose photographs" button, and phone upload by QR code is optional.
  • Each film's narration is shown in full as text in the studio, as a written alternative to the voice.

How we tested

Automated testing (axe-core) in Chrome on desktop and phone screen sizes, and manual keyboard testing. The site should work well in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari and with the NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver screen readers.

Known limitations

  • Sample films: the narrated sample films have captions in every site language; you can switch the caption language in the player. The other sample films have music only, without speech.
  • Films that users create are AI-generated visual content without audio description. The approved narration text is available as text in the studio.
  • The checkout is run by Freemius, an external provider, and its accessibility is outside our control. If you have difficulty, write to us and we will help you complete the order another way.

If you find any other part of the site that isn't accessible, please tell us.

Physical accessibility

FrameHug is an online-only service. It has no office or other place that serves customers in person; the whole service, including support, is provided on the website and by email.
